These dark stained cabinets were in very good condition and it was unnecessary to replace them with new cabinets. The client wanted something lighter in color and also wanting to replace the wine rack with a pullout spice rack cabinet.
So we replaced the doors with a more modern shaker style door in light grey and refinished the cabinet exteriors. We also needed to replace the three upper cabinets to the right of the microwave to achieve continuity and balance without having to alter the crowns or backsplash tilework.
We used the cabinet which was removed from next to the microwave and installed it on the opposite side of the kitchen where there was only wall space before adding glass doors to create a nice display cabinet.
Before. This renovation was a fraction of the cost of replacing the cabinets.
